I’m Diane Erhart, BSN, RN, and I’ve started this blog to help spread the word about my activities as a Parish Nurse at Kenton United Methodist Church in Kenton, Delaware. I’m a home health nurse, church organist, and mother of 6 wonderful (grown) children, and grandmother of 6 1/2 children (the other 1/2 due in October).
After being a stay-at-home mother for nearly 2 decades, I began my nursing education at Delaware State University when my youngest child was in preschool and my oldest was attending her first year of college. I received my BSN in 1999. I worked in a hospital in Chestertown, MD, for 6 years as an RN on a Medical Surgical floor and then on an Intermediate floor with cardiac and pulmonary patients. I then made a change to Home Health nursing in order to be closer to my community and better assess the needs of the community. In June 2008, I took a 32-hour course through Christiana Care in preparation to begin the Parish Nurse program at Kenton United Methodist Church. Christiana Care continues to provide support for this program, which we started in January 2009.
Welcome! It’s nice to see another Delaware blogger who doesn’t rant about politics. :)
Very nice! I will enjoy keeping up with your posts. Have fun!
Diane, Beautiful job on your website. Thank you for all you do for me and for the church. Love, Joyce
Can’t wait to hear more about what you’re doing!
